a week in the life...

I've seen this series on a few blogs that I read and thought now would be a good time to do the same. Canon is 6 months today and I thought it would be fun to document what his schedule is at this age and what are life is like. I already know that this week is a particularly busy week, but that will be more fun for y'all! So, here goes!

Monday

7am - I get myself out of bed after hitting snooze a few times. I'm not sure how long Canon will stay asleep (he woke up quite a few times last night!) so I'm hoping to get at least a shower and coffee in before he wakes up. Lucky for me, I was able to get completely ready, have my coffee and breakfast and even get our dinner, Chicken Enchilada Stew, together in the crock-pot. Definitely a good start to my day!

8:10am - Canon wakes up. I go in and he is all smiles. He drinks a bottle and I get him ready for the day.

9am - We're headed to work. We have to take a lot of stuff wherever we go!


9:15-12:30 - We're at work. Canon takes a nice long nap from 9:45-11:15 while I get as much done as possible. Work lets me keep a pack n' play at the house and I bring his sound machine. Once he wakes up, I give him a bottle, then my gracious co-workers tend to entertain him while I finish things up before he gets too fussy. It takes a long time to pack everything up and get out the door and I try to do that in order to get him home for nap #2.


12:45 - 3:45 - We're at home. Canon takes another great nap from 1pm - 3pm. He wakes up, all smiles again, and drinks a bottle. We play on the couch while Ellen is on TV before it is time to head to school to pick up Aaron.

 

Today it snowed while we were in the house! This is the park down the street from us and I took the picture on our way to get Aaron. It looked like a blizzard about 20 minutes before this, but now you can see its all blue skies! 
 
 

4:15pm - We pick up Aaron from school. We go in and see the teacher for a little bit so they can get their baby fix. 



5:00 - 5:30pm - Canon fell asleep in the car on the way back and I put him down in the crib right when we got home, but he just cried. After some rocking and attempts at getting him back to sleep, we go ahead and give him another bottle.


6:00pm - Aaron and I eat dinner while watching Jeopardy and playing with Canon.


6:30pm - Tonight is the Lutheran Elementary School's Spelling Bee, so we get Canon in his pajamas and head down to Shepherd of the Hills school. We had 4 kids participate and though they didn't win, it was fun. Canon was great and everyone loved seeing him as usual.


8:25pm - Get home, give Canon his last bottle with the lights off, sound machine on and in he goes to sleep for the night. I watch the rest of the Bachelor and Biggest Loser.

9:15pm - I finally put in Jillian Micheal's 30 Day Shred and get my work-out in for the day!


10:15pm - I'll hopefully be asleep!

    I'm impressed. Way to go for getting your workout in and being a super mom at the same time.

      I'm not sure about "super mom", but I appreciate the compliment. YOU however are running a marathon, which is AWESOME!

Baby Boy #3!

We are expecting baby boy #3 and since I documented a good amount of my pregnancies with the older two, I want to at least start off giving this one the same treatment! I am due May 25th, though he'll probably come around the 18th by c-section. We found out in my 18 week appointment that we were having a boy and I can honestly say I've been super excited since. With two older brothers already ruining, I mean running, the house, I'm happy to bring another boy into our crazy. This pregnancy will always be remembered by having to have my gall bladder removed at week 11. As soon as I hit 6 weeks I started having intense gall bladder pain. I've dealt with gall stones since Canon was born, but they were always singular events that would pass in about 4 hours, and this pain was consistent and all day/night long. 22 weeks (5 months)

this kid cracks me up Just like every mom, I say this every month, but I can't believe he is already 5 months! I'm not going to lie, this event has really caused me to kick my mommy-ness into gear. It is time to get this kid together, ha! So this week I have been really intentional about making sure we get lots of tummy time in, practicing rolling over, lots of time in the bumbo chair and on the couch sitting up and being super silly to pull out those giggles! And honestly, we're having the best time! Not that I wasn't doing these things before, but I had a bit more laid back approach assuming that he'll just learn things on his own. And he will, but now I'm just more up in his face pushing him along! We got over being sick, for the most part, at the end of last week. His and Hers

Aaron has officially started his second year of seminary! To commemorate, I thought I'd paste the answers to some questions we were both recently asked. A way to get an idea of both sides of our life right now. My answers: How did you spend your summer?  We had the best summer! Aaron took Hebrew in June and July, and I had my first summer as a stay at home mom. We went to the beach, pool, the library, visited Chicago and came to Alexandria twice!!  What are you most looking forward to (in your 2nd year at Seminary)?  The “cloud” over the 2nd year is getting ready for our vicarage. We’ll meet with the placement director in October and will find out the location in April! So there will be lots of hypothetical conversations, wishlists and prayers leading up to that!  Otherwise, I’m excited that we’ll be just minutes away from our church and school. I hope to get our whole family to matins more weekdays than not and Canon will begin a first communion class this ...
