Christmas 2015

I am SO LATE with this post, but I did't want it to go undocumented, so here goes! December 22nd we did a little family Christmas, opening presents from Aaron and I, his parents and siblings and my dad. Highlights were: Captain America doll, Firehouse Station, Sit&Learn Chair, Maps book. December 23rd we all went to MoMo's to eat Chinese and exchange gifts with Casey and David. Highlights included a beautiful necklace for me, zip up hoodie for C and a personalized stool for B! December 24th we hung around the house in the morning, then went over to Casey's house to see Santa! Her dad owns his own Santa suit and she invited a few kids over for cookies, playtime and to sit on Santa's lap! I didn't get any pictures with Santa as Ben wouldn't let go of me, but we did get a good one of all the kids! I hope this is a tradition that continues.  I feel like I should stop here and just say that Canon and Cole love each other....and are

5 Years of Marriage

Today is our 5 year wedding anniversary! 5 years feels like an accomplishment, especially when you consider how much has happened in that time! As a married couple we've lived in 3 states, made two semi-cross country moves, lived in 4 apartments/houses and had 2 kids! Wow, a lot. Looking back I laugh at myself. I was a young 25 year-old feeling like I was the only one of my friends not married (which I wasn't). I met Aaron in my 3rd year out of college, but life changes so much after graduation that it felt like forever. We were set up on a blind date, and much to our matchmaker's surprise (she later revealed) we decided to take our relationship seriously. I knew pretty early on that Aaron was the one I would marry. Like, kind of scary early on. Enough so that when I started talking to my mom about it she freaked out, but also early enough that when we went through a rough patch a few months in, I knew not to give up. We got married 355 days after we met, only 3 1/2 m

B+ Goals for January

Happy New Year! 'Tis the season of fresh starts, goals and resolutions! I read a lot of blogs and I've very much enjoyed reading everyone's goals and/or resolutions over the last week or so. Honestly, getting to hear other women's hearts about motherhood, working, spiritual life, etc has helped me brainstorm and process the kind of things I'd like to see happen in 2016. That and a good old fashioned date night in which the hubby and I discussed our own personal goals and dreams. We didn't go out on NYE, but we did go out on New Year's Day evening and I think I see a tradition forming. It was so nice.  This year I'd like to focus on just two areas: Physical Health Spiritual Health I know that by making small steps to improving these two areas, my entire life will improved and I am excited! What I love about Elizabeth and Sarah's B+ Goals is to keep them attainable, but also allow grace and that no matter what, done is better than perf
