8 1/2 months

I can not even begin to describe how much I love this kid! He is getting so funny and so fun to play with! The past 2 months, life with him has changed dramatically. Here are his updates -  He is sleeping through the night! This is such a huge one! We rarely hear him at night these days and when we do, he is able to put himself back to sleep quickly. Which means, for the first time in like a year, I've had a full nights sleep! PTL.  He is eating "solid" food 3 times a day now - his favorite is anything with fruit! He can roll around front to back over and over, and also scoot around in a circle on his belly. When sitting up, he leans over one leg pretty far to reach something. So far, no crawling, but I am not rushing that! He'll get it soon enough- and when he does - our whole life will change!  He has 4 teeth, the two bottom and the two on either side of the front on top. I think those top will be making an appearance soon though

My First Mother's Day

It was a great day all around. The morning started with quality time with my sister and two of her friends who were out here visiting. Then lunch outside. 2 long naptimes. A walk to Ben & Jerrys. Tulips and a homemade card. And finally, steamed shrimp and pulled pork at a favorite restaurant and a baby who happily hung out in his carseat through the whole thing! It was a wonderful day with my boys and I am so grateful to that husband of mine for planning it. I hear there is a necklace on the way in the mail, so I'm looking forward to that as well!

on being a working mom

Yep, that is right. I am now officially a "working mom" (though really, isn't every mom a working mom?) I'm not really looking to enter the bigger conversation of working outside or inside the home, just want to share some feelings about my experience so far. The basics - since before Canon as born, I have been working for Denver K-Life, 2 days a week. They have been extremely gracious and allowed me to continue working at home for a while right after he was born and then I transitioned back to 2 days a week at the office. I bring Canon with me and it is really great! We get there in time for his first nap and he sleeps in the pack n' play I keep at the office. Sometimes we stay through his 2nd nap, sometimes we go home, just depends on my work load. So really, I've been working since he was born, I have just been lucky enough to bring him with me. At the end of February, I started subbing at St. John's Lutheran Preschool. I started out just going in
