Thanksgiving 2017

This Thanksgiving took us to Charlottesville to visit my sister and her family. They just moved into a brand new house in October that is spacious enough to hold our 6 boys and all the crazy that comes with that! It was such a fun time and I continue to be so grateful that my boys are growing up so close to their cousins!  Robert made a turkey as well as green bean casserole. I made slow-cooker garlic parmesan mashed potatoes. My mom did sweet potatoes, apple cranberry casserole, grape salad and Amanda made pies. It was a feast!

Halloween 2017

We had an awesome time trick-or-treating with our friends this year! This is the 3rd year we have spent the evening with them - it is funny how things just become traditions without even realizing it!  And because I love some good comparisons photos...

Life Lately

We are just full-steam ahead recently! Since daylight savings time (ended? began?) we've been staying up later, playing outside more and getting into all the spring activities! Canon started his first official city T-Ball league at the end of April and we're doing that 3 times a week through May! As I dramatically exclaimed in the car on the way to his first game - "this is the first day of the next 14 years!!"  Ben continues to be the sweetest little boy, though he is absolutely fearless when it comes to wrestling with Canon and Aaron or jumping off things. Just the other day he essentially did a backwards trustfall from the coffee table to the couch- I couldn't believe it!  We're slowly getting ready for baby #3 (15 days!) We re arranged the van to get C ready to move to the back and at least put the car seat in the trunk. I got a ton of awesome hand-me-downs this week so we've got the essentials ready!  Here is a glimpse of some favorite photos o...

Christmas in California 2016

This Christmas we traveled to Aaron's home in California. Both his siblings and their families (in Alaska and Colorado) made the decision a few years ago that we would all get together this Christmas so we could spend it with everyone. It was so fun and I hope we make an effort to get everyone together in a few more years to do it again. We left on Christmas Eve morning and had a surprisingly smooth trip. I wasn't too sure how the boys would do on the plane, it was an 8am flight and we'd been out of the house (awake) since 3:30am, but luckily they both slept for about half of the 5 hours. Things got a little stir crazy at the end, but I think that is to be expected. We rented a car easily and made the 3 hour drive up to his parents house, which again, went surprisingly well. Canon and Hellen participated in the Christmas Eve service at Aaron's parent's church, as a Shepard and Angel. It was a cute kids service that didn't last too long. It was like 10...
