6 months!

Y'all. I seriously can not believe it has been 6 months. This kid is SO big. Just in the last 2 weeks have we really seen some big changes. I'm just going to list them out:
  • he has two bottom teeth! they have cut through the gums, but they aren't all the way up yet
  • he is rolling over back to tummy, tummy to back constantly!
  • he is sleeping unswaddled
  • he, most nights, goes without a bottle!
  • he just started, as in did it twice yesterday, lifting his hands when he wants to be picked up
  • he leans into me to give me hugs, reaches for me and buries his head in my neck/shoulder. it is a dream!
  • he eats solid foods in the morning and evening now
  • he rolled over onto his tummy last night and woke himself up and he was not happy about it
  • he puts himself to sleep really well...after a book I just lay him in his crib and he falls asleep
  • he has started playing in his crib, with his feet, with his pacifier, just looking out, it is so cute!
He is so great. These are a lot of changes for me to handle though! I keep thinking "where has my baby gone!?" Yesterday I subbed in a 2 1/2 year-old class and when I got home (after a birthday dinner with my co-workers) Canon was already asleep. I went in, picked him up and rocked with him because I was feeling so sad that in no time he is going to be one of those 2 year olds! I am clearly really emotional about this!

We are still working on sitting up, but it is getting better each day. Funny story, when we were at his 6-month check-up I was telling our doctor I was slightly concerned that he wasn't even balancing himself or doing a "tripod" sit. She wanted to see what he could do and he seriously did the best tripod sitting I've ever seen him do, ha! His stats at his appointment were still in the 8th percentile for weight, at 14.95lbs and 50th for length at 26 inches. He is following the curve for the 8th percentile, so that is good.

I've gotten out a few of his 9-month clothes, mainly some onesies and pajamas. His cloth diapers really help keep him in those bigger clothes! Overall, he continues to be a very happy baby and I really am so lucky he is ours!

Oh, and I have to add these photos from this morning...it is just going to get harder to these weekly monthly (let's just be honest about it) photos!

Baby Boy #3!

We are expecting baby boy #3 and since I documented a good amount of my pregnancies with the older two, I want to at least start off giving this one the same treatment! I am due May 25th, though he'll probably come around the 18th by c-section. We found out in my 18 week appointment that we were having a boy and I can honestly say I've been super excited since. With two older brothers already ruining, I mean running, the house, I'm happy to bring another boy into our crazy. This pregnancy will always be remembered by having to have my gall bladder removed at week 11. As soon as I hit 6 weeks I started having intense gall bladder pain. I've dealt with gall stones since Canon was born, but they were always singular events that would pass in about 4 hours, and this pain was consistent and all day/night long. The doctors I saw encouraged me to manage it with diet and hope to get to 16 weeks before discussing surgery. I tried everything, which pretty much meant eating noth...

His and Hers

Aaron has officially started his second year of seminary! To commemorate, I thought I'd paste the answers to some questions we were both recently asked. A way to get an idea of both sides of our life right now. My answers: How did you spend your summer?  We had the best summer! Aaron took Hebrew in June and July, and I had my first summer as a stay at home mom. We went to the beach, pool, the library, visited Chicago and came to Alexandria twice!!  What are you most looking forward to (in your 2nd year at Seminary)?  The “cloud” over the 2nd year is getting ready for our vicarage. We’ll meet with the placement director in October and will find out the location in April! So there will be lots of hypothetical conversations, wishlists and prayers leading up to that!  Otherwise, I’m excited that we’ll be just minutes away from our church and school. I hope to get our whole family to matins more weekdays than not and Canon will begin a first communion class this ...

Fort Wayne Fun!

To be honest, when Aaron told me we were likely moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana....I wasn't thrilled at the geographical part of that statement. I didn't know much about the midwest and thought that Fort Wayne was a tiny town with lots of cows, corn and not much else. Thankfully, I was wrong! Fort Wayne is actually awesome. There are TWO Chick-fil-a's, lots of parks and playgrounds, rivers that run through, an awesome Children's zoo and much more. Here just a quick snapshot of some of the fun we've had this summer in Indiana. Camping - friends invited Aaron and the big boys on their first overnight tent camping experience! This state park was just 45 minutes from our house. I came up with the littles, then left way late to sleep in our own beds! The next morning they got to canoe! Hiking - we had a goal of hiking each Saturday morning that was free this summer, and we succeeded twice! Once in town, and once just about an hour away. So fun to be in the ...
