We'll Be In Touch

Tuesday, July 29th marked the 1/2 point of this pregnancy! I can't even believe we're already this far along! I went in for an appointment the Friday before for our anatomy ultrasound. We immediately told her we did not  want to know the gender since we had this big reveal planned for Friday night. Everything looked healthy with our baby, so we rushed out of there to give our envelope to our wonderful accomplice, Meg.  Once Meg had opened the envelope (in the safety of her car away from us!) she went to the craft store and picked up 20 cans of silly string in the correct color. Lucky for all of us, the only part of the can that revealed the color was the cap, so she was easily able to rid any clues and get the string into our car for later in the evening (they unfortunately were going to be out of town, so couldn't partake in the actual event). The last week of June we took a family trip to Rehoboth. We were super lucky to stay at the house of one of my mom's oldest  longest friends, Laurie. We actually stayed there a ton when I was growing up and she even let my girl scout troop use it a few times in middle school. So, needless to say, its a place that holds lots of memories. My mom and I loaded up her car on Friday, then my sister joined us with her 2 kids on Saturday. On Sunday Casey came into town and somehow it worked out that 3 of their best friends from high school were able to make it in for dinner that night too! We had a great week of cousins playing together, eating really good seafood and getting tan! I knew I was going to be sporadic with this, but some documenting is better than none! Here is 17 weeks, which was July 8. I had an appointment on July 10th and everything sounded great! How far along:  17 weeks! Baby Size:  an avocado, 4.6 inches and 3.5 oz Weight gain:  +3 from my 12 week to 17 week appointments, up just 1 from my 8 week appt Maternity clothes:  ordered my first round of clothes this week - a pair of white full panel skinnies from Target, some tanks and a dress from Old Navy. I'm using the belly band still for my jeans, and am glad for the more defined shape the maternity clothes give me.    Sleep:  varies, some nights I go all the way through, some nights I toss and turn.    Gender:  appointment is scheduled for July 25th! working on the details of our reveal now Movement:  definitely, not pronounced movements, but flutters and rolls for sure Best moment this week: seeing an actual bump and not just extra weight!
