Chicago

For the memory books... We went up to Chicago over 4th of July weekend to visit our friends, and the best part was we got to see other friends we haven't seen in over a year too! Will and Ji invited us up to visit after their wedding, and it just happened that Ruth and Lyman, who are LCMS missionaries in Hong Kong, were going to be in town the same day for only 4 hours. Surprising them was the best! We also visited Legoland Discovery Center for the boys. They've been begging to go all year!  Thanks to amazing friends and hosts, we can cross Chicago off our "midwest cities bucket list"!

reflections on our first year

Reflections on our first year in Fort Wayne.... - My husband is a rock star. Seriously. His dedication to our family, and his school/family balance, has been so strong. He has happily woken up in the pre-dawn hours to get his school work in so that he can be home with the boys in the afternoons. He is present with us for dinner and evening playtime, and especially since the birth of Augustine, has taken on a lot of the bedtime routine as well. He is genuinely enjoying his classes, and with each quarter that passes, I see his formation towards Pastor and am so proud.  - Seminary is fun! There is an aspect of our current journey that feels a little like college. The annual events, weekly social gatherings, bonding with our class, campus visits, etc. We love going up to campus as much as possible. There seems to always be something going on and people to hang out with! I wrote ab

back at it

It's been...some time. But, I'm feeling inspired. We are right in the middle of our second summer in Fort Wayne. We've been back to Alexandria, the beach and Chicago. The boys have done Games camp, Farm camp and one VBS. We still have another VBS, 2 weddings and another trip to Virginia on our schedule! Aaron completed Hebrew 1 and will finish Hebrew 2 at the end of July. And then, school starts again in September! We moved, of course. When I found our first rental, I knew it was in a good neighborhood and was a great size, and that it was far away from everything. We were driving 25-35 minutes to get up to Seminary, see friends and get to church. Once I made the move to stay home with the boys, it just made sense to be closer to everything that we do around town. We became aware of a rental that is just 4 blocks from our church, and about 15 minutes to everything we do. It's super cute and easier to manage because it is smaller. We're for sure still in the pro
