Sam - 2 Months

Well, his 1 week post turned into his 1 month post which has now turned into his 2 month post! I'm going to try to recap as much as I can remember for my own benefit. Sam is the best baby. He has slept very well since birth and he's only waking up once or twice at night right now! We never had any long hours of walking/bouncing/rocking him and from the beginning he has typically gone back to sleep well. I've begun to notice that when he hasn't had enough sleep, it tends to mean he's restless from about 5am - 7am. He was clocking a solid 4-5 hours of sleep during the first 6 weeks, typically from like 9-1, but now we've finally been able to move his bedtime up and he'll do 7-2ish. While I'm not great at putting myself to bed early, it is such a difference for me emotionally to put him to sleep earlier and know that I've got the rest of the evening to myself. I moved him into the big boys room probably around 5 weeks and it has been going reall...

Samuel Patrick Schultz

Baby Sam arrived at 8:51am on Thursday, May 18, 2017. He was a scheduled c-section at 39 weeks. The other boys were both c-sections, but at 40+3 and 40 weeks. Samuel weighed 8lbs 7oz and was 19.5 inches long (our smallest baby!) Aaron and I both took Wednesday off and it was a great day to finish up a few things and enjoy each others company. We took the boys to school, had breakfast, went to Chapel, cleaned/organized and then spent the afternoon and evening celebrating our last night as a family of 4! We ate dinner at Los Tios and then went to Canon's t-ball game! Ha, a pretty normal evening and perfect for us. Post bedtime there was a bit of scrambling getting everything packed for the hospital and ready for the boys to be with my mom and friends for 3 days, but we got it done in time to go to bed at a decent time. Thursday morning we were up super early to be at the hospital at 5:30am. My mom stayed the night with us so she could take the boys to school. Registra...

baby 3 update

Today I am 32 weeks! It has been a pretty great 3 months of pregnancy since Christmas. Life just kind of keeps moving as it always has. Nights of needing to rest are becoming more and more frequent, as is feeling out of breath and not being able to move as much as I want, but I know those will come to an end. My belly is feeling very tight and stretched this week and I'm remembering the words I wrote about the end of my pregnancy with Ben. That was with only 5 weeks left and I have probably 7 left with this one!  I'll go to my doctor's appointment tomorrow and will hopefully schedule my c-section for Thursday May 18. That will be 39 weeks, so unless my body decides to make it happen earlier, that's the date! 7 weeks feels incredibly far and incredibly close at the same time. I've got my list going of what we need to do, but I also know there will be plenty of time for most of it after he comes. As long as I find a few onesies, swaddles, a car seat and swing, we...

Baby Boy #3!

We are expecting baby boy #3 and since I documented a good amount of my pregnancies with the older two, I want to at least start off giving this one the same treatment! I am due May 25th, though he'll probably come around the 18th by c-section. We found out in my 18 week appointment that we were having a boy and I can honestly say I've been super excited since. With two older brothers already ruining, I mean running, the house, I'm happy to bring another boy into our crazy. This pregnancy will always be remembered by having to have my gall bladder removed at week 11. As soon as I hit 6 weeks I started having intense gall bladder pain. I've dealt with gall stones since Canon was born, but they were always singular events that would pass in about 4 hours, and this pain was consistent and all day/night long. The doctors I saw encouraged me to manage it with diet and hope to get to 16 weeks before discussing surgery. I tried everything, which pretty much meant eating noth...
