a week in the life {tuesday}

Today was a different day for us, as we went to Redeemer so I could substitute for the 3/4 Grade class. I brought Canon with me, but if I have to sub again, we'll definitely be dropping him off at Daycare!

7:20am - I get up and get ready for the day. I'm able to get coffee, breakfast and do a little Facebooking before Canon wakes up.

8:00am - Canon wakes up. He gets a bottle and some mashed up bananas in his high chair. I give him a bath and get him ready for the day, though I should have left him in his pajamas! By the time he goes down for his first nap, I have to change his clothes due to spit-up and drool!

8:30-9:30am - Tuesdays is when I try to give the apartment a good clean, so Canon plays on his map and in his high chair while I put away clean dishes, pick up clothes, etc. He has a great time watching the washing machine!

9:30 - 11:00am - Canon naps and I get ready for the day. I even find some time to catch up on the blogs I read.

11:00am - I have to go in and wake Canon up to give him a bottle so we can get to Redeemer on time.

11:45 - 4:15 - We're at Redeemer. I substitute in the classroom and Canon hangs out between Aaron and his secretary, Peggy. We set up his pack n' play in Aaron's office and he is able to take two short naps. It was definitely hectic, but not terrible. Aaron said he got a good idea of what its like when I am at K-Life trying to work while watching him!

4:15 - We leave and decide to go to Chick-fil-a for a reward for the looong day we've had!

5:15 - We're home and Canon gets a bottle. He's been a little fussy with his bottles recently, I think because I changed them to 'fast flow' nipples. We have to stop and burp him a lot more often or else he is a mess.

5:45 - Tired after a long day, and honestly not wanting to deal with an also tired baby, I leave for the gym! Aaron graciously takes over.

6:20 - Canon goes to sleep for the night. It is 9:00pm and we've already heard him a few times, so we'll see what kind of night it is!

6:45 to bed - I get home and it has been relaxing since! I read some blogs, made us strawberry/banana smoothies and now we're catching up on the entire Biggest Loser episode from last night.

going public

Well...there is not really any other way to say this but... Aaron and I are having a BABY! Yep, Baby Schultz should be arriving this Labor Day. We could not be more thrilled about the news! Once we got through the 12-week ultrasound, which is what this picture is from, we were ready to spread the news! I know there are still lots of people who should have gotten phone calls, and for that I apologize that you are finding out now, but I was just ready to get it out there! And now I will answer the questions that typically follow up this kind of announcement. 1. Were you trying? Well....not exactly. From the beginning I have felt pretty strongly that we were not in control of this whole baby-making situation. I have known many women who got pregnant on birth control, or when they didn't even know they could, and those who "planned" it and then it has taken longer than hoped. I've just always been pretty sure that when the Lord determined we were ready, He'd ...

Baby Boy #3!

We are expecting baby boy #3 and since I documented a good amount of my pregnancies with the older two, I want to at least start off giving this one the same treatment! I am due May 25th, though he'll probably come around the 18th by c-section. We found out in my 18 week appointment that we were having a boy and I can honestly say I've been super excited since. With two older brothers already ruining, I mean running, the house, I'm happy to bring another boy into our crazy. This pregnancy will always be remembered by having to have my gall bladder removed at week 11. As soon as I hit 6 weeks I started having intense gall bladder pain. I've dealt with gall stones since Canon was born, but they were always singular events that would pass in about 4 hours, and this pain was consistent and all day/night long. The doctors I saw encouraged me to manage it with diet and hope to get to 16 weeks before discussing surgery. I tried everything, which pretty much meant eating noth...

what's going on

We're starting to try some rice cereal. I've been pretty sporadic about it, but after his 6 month appointment (which is NEXT WEEK!) I'll start putting "solids" into our every day routine.      Canon has found his feet! Now every diaper change is just the most fun, trying to get those toes into his mouth!   Canon is officially rolling over, both sides! This particular picture happened when I had gone into my bedroom for a hot second and came out to find him on his tummy! He can do it regularly now, though he doesn't love being on his tummy and rolls back over quickly.  Other things going on: Canon is officially sleeping unswaddled!! I guess around 2 weeks ago, we started again with the one arm out and went from there. He now sleeps in a fleece sleep sack with arms. I'm not going to lie, the process wasn't quite as daunting as I had originally thought, but I think that is because we waited until he was really ready.  ...
