International Picnic

The school I work for, where Canon and Ben both attend, is year round. However, every June there is an International Picnic that feels like the end-of-the-year party. Each classroom has spent the entire year learning different facts about a country and the Picnic begins with a program put on by the students. Each class dances or sings to a song from their country and the teachers do an amazing job creating costumes to go along with it. We have a huge potluck afterwards, then the street is closed down for pony rides, games, food and tables that showcase more about each country. Each student also receives a "diploma" this night for completing their year in that classroom! This year, Canon's class presented the Philippines and Ben's class presented Vietnam. I have pictures and video from both the Dress Rehearsal on Thursday (benefits of working where they go to school!) and the actual program on Friday. Note: Ben was in California for the program on Friday. Enjoy!

Hooray! I finally remembered to document our day on the correct day! Here are 10 pictures from Friday, June 10, 2016. Sad that he missed it!   Canon's diploma post performance  Spiderman and Snow-balls   And of course a pony ride!    First week since  March that I've reached my goal 5 days in a row!  What a fun day!

We Bought a House!

I still can hardly believe I am even writing those words! The past few weeks have been a crazy whirlwind of phone calls and paperwork and e-mails that all led up to this! Mostly what I have to say is the Lord really provided this one. Without getting into too much detail, it was the right amount of house at the right time with the right people. We are so thankful for His provision and also for all the people who have been involved in this. We offered late April and moved Memorial Day weekend, so we went by the house almost every weekend until move-in day. We would go in the side gate and play around in the back yard. Aaron packed up most of our things while I was away at the beach (bless him!). We were SUPER grateful to have about 8 guys come help on move-in day, so in all it only took about 3 hours to pack up the old place and unpack into the new place. It took us a full week before we got the boys room somewhat together and we are still very slowly getting the rest of the ho

Beach Trip 2016!

The week before Memorial Day we took our Annual Rehoboth Beach trip! Me and the boys, my mom, Amanda and her family and Casey, Max and Paul all joined together over the week to re-live our childhood memories through our children! Though it is tiring, it is always a good time! After a drive through rainy weather, the first stop is always Gus and Gus' for hamburgers and fries! Sunday morning was foggy and cold and Amanda and I took the boys on a pretty long walk/scooter/run on the boardwalk and through the town. Canon just got this scooter a few weeks ago and is already pretty fast! No trip is complete without a night at Funland! Probably the best picture of the whole thing! There is a 3-minute Haunted House ride and Robert took the "big boys". None of us were really sure how they would do, but this picture proves it all. Not staged, mid-way through the ride and the boys look terrified. Thankfully there were no nightmares that night!  There
