a week in the life {wednesday & thursday}

Wednesday

6:20am - I get up and get ready for the day. It is SUPER early, but today I am working at St. John's Lutheran Early Learning Center and I have to be there at 8am.

7:00am - I go in and wake Canon up, give him a bottle, get him ready. He definitely could have slept more, but such is life.

7:35am - 5:00pm - Canon is at Daycare.  They tell me he did really well and was happy! He took 3 naps while he was there, ranging from 50 minutes to 1hr and 15min. Not quite as well as he does at home, but that is to be expected.

8:00am-4:00pm - I work in the 4 year-old PreK classroom at St. John's. It was super fun, again, and I am glad that I am doing it. I leave at 4:00 and go pick Aaron up from school before heading to get Canon from daycare.

5:15pm - We take a nice family walk around the neighborhood. When we get back Canon is in the same situation where he won't take a nap, but is tired, so we give him a bottle and try to keep him up until at least 6.

6:20 - bottle and bed. Earlier than we like, but he had an early morning.

6:30pm - bed - I cooked a really good dinner, Paleo Pineapple Stuffed Burgers with sweet potatoes and broccoli. I make some bananas and broccoli for Canon. We watch American Idol and head to bed.

Thursday

7:30am - Canon wakes up and I sleep until he does! He gets a bottle and a bath! He has been leaking out of his cloth diapers recently and I'm not exactly sure what to do about it. We use All-In-Ones so I don't have extra lining to put in them...I'm hoping I'm not going to have to start changing him in the middle of the night!

8:00am-9:00 - I feed Canon some bananas. We play, I try to get him to learn to sit up and do tummy time.

9:00am - 10:50am - Canon naps!! I get myself ready for the day, read some blogs and clean up a little. Then he wakes up and I feed him.

11:00am - 12:30pm - Our friend Tayler comes over and we walk to The Pioneer for lunch. It is a gorgeous day and we sit outside and eat tacos!

12:30pm - 1:30pm - Short nap. He wakes up, I try to get him to sleep more, he cries. I feed him.

2:15pm - 3:15pm - Again, a gorgeous day, so we got on a jog. I'm doing the couch-to-5k program on my phone and I'm back up to week 4. I will say, however, jogging outside, with a stroller, on a hilly trail is much harder than on a treadmill in the gym!

3:30pm - 4:15pm - Quick nap #3. Then up for a little bit snuggling with me and then a bottle.

4:15pm - 6:20pm - We play, Aaron gets home and keeps him awake until its time for bed and a bottle. I leave at 5:50 to go to a K-Life Leader Dinner. Aaron says he was pretty fussy as it was time for him to go down and I'm thinking he was probably just exhausted.

Tomorrow ends this crazy week, though I think next might be just as crazy!

Baby Boy #3!

We are expecting baby boy #3 and since I documented a good amount of my pregnancies with the older two, I want to at least start off giving this one the same treatment! I am due May 25th, though he'll probably come around the 18th by c-section. We found out in my 18 week appointment that we were having a boy and I can honestly say I've been super excited since. With two older brothers already ruining, I mean running, the house, I'm happy to bring another boy into our crazy. This pregnancy will always be remembered by having to have my gall bladder removed at week 11. As soon as I hit 6 weeks I started having intense gall bladder pain. I've dealt with gall stones since Canon was born, but they were always singular events that would pass in about 4 hours, and this pain was consistent and all day/night long. The doctors I saw encouraged me to manage it with diet and hope to get to 16 weeks before discussing surgery. I tried everything, which pretty much meant eating noth...

His and Hers

Aaron has officially started his second year of seminary! To commemorate, I thought I'd paste the answers to some questions we were both recently asked. A way to get an idea of both sides of our life right now. My answers: How did you spend your summer?  We had the best summer! Aaron took Hebrew in June and July, and I had my first summer as a stay at home mom. We went to the beach, pool, the library, visited Chicago and came to Alexandria twice!!  What are you most looking forward to (in your 2nd year at Seminary)?  The “cloud” over the 2nd year is getting ready for our vicarage. We’ll meet with the placement director in October and will find out the location in April! So there will be lots of hypothetical conversations, wishlists and prayers leading up to that!  Otherwise, I’m excited that we’ll be just minutes away from our church and school. I hope to get our whole family to matins more weekdays than not and Canon will begin a first communion class this ...

Fort Wayne Fun!

To be honest, when Aaron told me we were likely moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana....I wasn't thrilled at the geographical part of that statement. I didn't know much about the midwest and thought that Fort Wayne was a tiny town with lots of cows, corn and not much else. Thankfully, I was wrong! Fort Wayne is actually awesome. There are TWO Chick-fil-a's, lots of parks and playgrounds, rivers that run through, an awesome Children's zoo and much more. Here just a quick snapshot of some of the fun we've had this summer in Indiana. Camping - friends invited Aaron and the big boys on their first overnight tent camping experience! This state park was just 45 minutes from our house. I came up with the littles, then left way late to sleep in our own beds! The next morning they got to canoe! Hiking - we had a goal of hiking each Saturday morning that was free this summer, and we succeeded twice! Once in town, and once just about an hour away. So fun to be in the ...
