happy fall decorating

We had our first dinner guests last night! It was super fun to host and even more exciting to get our house ready for guests! I got to go to Bed Bath & Beyond and Target and shop for new, holiday appropriate table ware and accessories! Woohoo!!! Our apartment is slowly, but surely, feeling more like home! Here are some pictures of a few updates I pulled together last night and some we did a few weeks ago. I bought these initials back in September. Now we'll never get our towels confused :) I finally got some of our wedding pictures printed in frame-able sizes! Though our collage is not finished, I'm happy with the progress! Another necessary need we finally filled was something for our "foyer". A place to drop keys, mail, notes and laundry money. We bought the window frame in New Orleans and the shelf and basket from Target. I love it!  I updated our couch pillows yesterday as well! I love all the different colors!

it is finally over....kind of

30-Day Challenge to Eat at HOME! Finally, our 30 Day Challenge to Eat at Home is over! Today = day 30 and I couldn't be more excited. We've done pretty well, but I have to admit, we did not make it the whole 30 days. But I promise we have really good excuses for why! haha. The first "cheat" came earlier in October. The Rocky Mountain Lutheran School District hosted a conference in Breckenridge and Aaron's school graciously took both of us up there! (PS, if you click on the link, the 5th picture in feature's Aaron's little brother, Alex! He is the one in the middle on the right side!) So, for 3 days, we were happily stuck in a beautiful hotel/conference center in the mountains, watching the leaves change and the first snow of the season! We were there 2 nights and really had no choice but to eat out! We made sure not to go crazy just because it was a bit of a "free weekend"!! We enjoyed good meals with fellow teachers and st

my not-so-secret love affair

A few weeks ago, we had the HUGE privilege of going to 2 of the Rockies v. Giants game here in Colorado. Aaron has always been a Giants fan and his best childhood memories are driving up to San Francisco with his family to see the Giants play. When we got married, I knew I would be adopting this team as my own. Luckily for me, the Giants won the World Series last year so it hasn't been very hard to get excited about them. And, as a young female, Brian Wilson certainly has helped :) Not only is he a great pitcher, he is quirky, funny, weird and SO CUTE! He has unfortunately been on the DL for most of this year, but made his return for one inning during their game against the Rockies. Yes, I had my camera. Yes, I was screaming. Yes, I went running down toward the field to get the best pictures I could. Here, mixed in with some other game photos, documents my love affair. Oh, and by the way, I majorly cut down the amount of pictures for the post - I have tons more! yesssssss
