First Day of School 2019

Today is the first day of school for Canon! Again, he'll be at Redeemer Classical School. The school is just in its 3rd year and the size has doubled from last year to this. He is considered Form B, but we still say 2nd grade.

He came downstairs this morning at 6:50am, already dressed in his uniform, a first for him! He waited very patiently for the next hour until it was time to get with his friends and walk together. We are lucky to live next door to 3 of his classmates and another that they pick up on the way.

The year began with matins for the students and their families, as well as an installation for the teachers. Aaron will continue to teach science once a week. He starts his Seminary classes on Monday the 9th.

Ben is "officially" starting school home. Not wanting to be left out of the anticipation of school, I offered to start doing some purposeful activities with him this year. We picked up a Pre-K book from Costco and have some letter and number flashcards as well.

His and Hers

Aaron has officially started his second year of seminary! To commemorate, I thought I'd paste the answers to some questions we were both recently asked. A way to get an idea of both sides of our life right now. My answers: How did you spend your summer? We had the best summer! Aaron took Hebrew in June and July, and I had my first summer as a stay at home mom. We went to the beach, pool, the library, visited Chicago and came to Alexandria twice!! What are you most looking forward to (in your 2nd year at Seminary)? The “cloud” over the 2nd year is getting ready for our vicarage. We’ll meet with the placement director in October and will find out the location in April! So there will be lots of hypothetical conversations, wishlists and prayers leading up to that! Otherwise, I’m excited that we’ll be just minutes away from our church and school. I hope to get our whole family to matins more weekdays than not and Canon will begin a first communion class this ...

an exciting list

Now that we've had some time to settle in, we've begun to discover some of our favorite spots as well as get excited for new ones. Here is a list of things we're really excited about for our new life in Denver. First of all, sports. One of the big draws to Denver for Aaron was the professional and college sports that are in abudance here. We're especially looking forward to the Rockies vs. Giants games in September, heading up to Boulder for some CU Football and walking over to DU for their lacrosse and ice hockey games. We're also pretty pumped about going out to the new Lutheran High School on Friday nights to watch their football games! I'm trying to convince Aaron to start coaching so we can live out Friday Night Lights . We've also been introduced to a few great areas thanks to some friends we've made so far! 22 weeks (5 months)

this kid cracks me up Just like every mom, I say this every month, but I can't believe he is already 5 months! I'm not going to lie, this event has really caused me to kick my mommy-ness into gear. It is time to get this kid together, ha! So this week I have been really intentional about making sure we get lots of tummy time in, practicing rolling over, lots of time in the bumbo chair and on the couch sitting up and being super silly to pull out those giggles! And honestly, we're having the best time! Not that I wasn't doing these things before, but I had a bit more laid back approach assuming that he'll just learn things on his own. And he will, but now I'm just more up in his face pushing him along! We got over being sick, for the most part, at the end of last week. Since he had been sick, I'd been rocking him a lot more, going into his room during naps/nighttime almost every time he cried, putting the pacifier back in his mouth, etc. Well, let me t...
