October Round-Up

Here is a look at October through pictures!

Canon's 1 month check up...yep, she wrote that he was adorable!

My work - Denver K-Life, had a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser. We may or may not have eaten 3 plates each.

snuggle time with daddy. love.

he genuinely enjoys bathtime, yay!

smiles

and we are loving the beautiful fall weather, taking walks and watching the leaves change colors

the beginning of what was supposed to be a great weekend in new orleans. short story is we missed our flight (not our fault), canon and i went standby to tampa with the assumption we could get on a plane to nola from there, only to find out that flight was overbooked. so, a night in a tampa hotel and we were headed back to denver....

....good news, canon was awesome and slept almost the entire time and we're headed to new orleans over MLK weekend when we'll get to spend quality time with friends

these pictures make me laugh - he did not want to open his eyes or get his picture taken

yep, not happy.

however, if we needed those pictures to get this one, i'm glad. i love this picture!

a sweet gift from a landlord - possibly because he felt guilty for raising our rent without forewarning us?

woot. he is sleeping in his crib every night.

meeting tori!

giants. that's really all i have to say.

discovering his toys

first bottle! yay, i got to go to work for like 5 hours and get a lot accomplished on a friday that aaron had off school!

halloween/fall fest at aar's school

ha. ej, on the left, did not like that doughnut. lucas, on the right, could not get enough!

he'll always know our love for nola!

he is just the cutest.

Other exciting October news:
I started a Couch to 5k program. It is an app on my phone and I love it. It starts out with intervals, for example week 1 was run 60 sec, walk 90 sec...week 2 was run 90 sec, walk 2 min, etc. and this very nice woman just comes on over my music and tells me when to walk and when to run. It is just easy enough that I'll do it again, but works me enough that I am sore the next day. Time to get back into those pre-pregnancy jeans!

Looking forward to November!

going public

Well...there is not really any other way to say this but... Aaron and I are having a BABY! Yep, Baby Schultz should be arriving this Labor Day. We could not be more thrilled about the news! Once we got through the 12-week ultrasound, which is what this picture is from, we were ready to spread the news! I know there are still lots of people who should have gotten phone calls, and for that I apologize that you are finding out now, but I was just ready to get it out there! And now I will answer the questions that typically follow up this kind of announcement. 1. Were you trying? Well....not exactly. From the beginning I have felt pretty strongly that we were not in control of this whole baby-making situation. I have known many women who got pregnant on birth control, or when they didn't even know they could, and those who "planned" it and then it has taken longer than hoped. I've just always been pretty sure that when the Lord determined we were ready, He'd ...

Baby Boy #3!

We are expecting baby boy #3 and since I documented a good amount of my pregnancies with the older two, I want to at least start off giving this one the same treatment! I am due May 25th, though he'll probably come around the 18th by c-section. We found out in my 18 week appointment that we were having a boy and I can honestly say I've been super excited since. With two older brothers already ruining, I mean running, the house, I'm happy to bring another boy into our crazy. This pregnancy will always be remembered by having to have my gall bladder removed at week 11. As soon as I hit 6 weeks I started having intense gall bladder pain. I've dealt with gall stones since Canon was born, but they were always singular events that would pass in about 4 hours, and this pain was consistent and all day/night long. The doctors I saw encouraged me to manage it with diet and hope to get to 16 weeks before discussing surgery. I tried everything, which pretty much meant eating noth...

what's going on

We're starting to try some rice cereal. I've been pretty sporadic about it, but after his 6 month appointment (which is NEXT WEEK!) I'll start putting "solids" into our every day routine.      Canon has found his feet! Now every diaper change is just the most fun, trying to get those toes into his mouth!   Canon is officially rolling over, both sides! This particular picture happened when I had gone into my bedroom for a hot second and came out to find him on his tummy! He can do it regularly now, though he doesn't love being on his tummy and rolls back over quickly.  Other things going on: Canon is officially sleeping unswaddled!! I guess around 2 weeks ago, we started again with the one arm out and went from there. He now sleeps in a fleece sleep sack with arms. I'm not going to lie, the process wasn't quite as daunting as I had originally thought, but I think that is because we waited until he was really ready.  ...
