1 week

Yep, I'm also copying the Weekly Photo Project from one of my favorite blogs, YoungHouseLove. Each week, I hope to take a photo of little man in a white onesie (the same one if I can remember) with a fun fabric behind him. Hopefully this will let us see how big he is getting! This week's "fabric" is a blanket that was made for Canon by a great friend of mine from Clemson. We absolutely love it. Thanks Lauren!

This first week has been really slow and really fast all at the same time! I can't believe that this time last week he was still inside me! So far, he has been super easy. The first two nights at home he had some fits that took a little while to settle down, but since then, the last 3 nights, have been great. He sleeps most of the day and night and we're at the point that we're trying to keep him up a little during the day and trying to get some good 4+ hour stretches at night. Got to start those patterns early!

I'm feeling good, though I tend to fall apart when the sun goes down. I think the exhaustion of the day and the anxiety of the upcoming evening catch up to me and I just need a good 5 minute cry. Then, I'm good to go! My mom has been here and has been a HUGE help. I can't even begin to think about what we are going to do when she is gone! Not only has she been helping me take care of Canon, she has been cleaning the kitchen, doing laundry and just taking care of me. Love you MoMo!

Aaron has also been doing a great job. Y'all, seriously. He took an entire week off school to be with us, even though school is little crazy right now. He has had some serious principal things come up this week, along with planning a softball tournament, along with having a new baby and an emotional wife, and has been doing it all. If you think of him, pray that he'll continue to be able to balance all the things that are going on in his life right now!

I'm hoping for the next week that we'll continue this to have a sweet, calm, peaceful little boy and that we'll be able to keep those longer stretches of sleep at night!

Well, Daddy is home!!!!!!!!!!

going public

Well...there is not really any other way to say this but... Aaron and I are having a BABY! Yep, Baby Schultz should be arriving this Labor Day. We could not be more thrilled about the news! Once we got through the 12-week ultrasound, which is what this picture is from, we were ready to spread the news! I know there are still lots of people who should have gotten phone calls, and for that I apologize that you are finding out now, but I was just ready to get it out there! And now I will answer the questions that typically follow up this kind of announcement. 1. Were you trying? Well....not exactly. From the beginning I have felt pretty strongly that we were not in control of this whole baby-making situation. I have known many women who got pregnant on birth control, or when they didn't even know they could, and those who "planned" it and then it has taken longer than hoped. I've just always been pretty sure that when the Lord determined we were ready, He'd ...

Baby Boy #3!

We are expecting baby boy #3 and since I documented a good amount of my pregnancies with the older two, I want to at least start off giving this one the same treatment! I am due May 25th, though he'll probably come around the 18th by c-section. We found out in my 18 week appointment that we were having a boy and I can honestly say I've been super excited since. With two older brothers already ruining, I mean running, the house, I'm happy to bring another boy into our crazy. This pregnancy will always be remembered by having to have my gall bladder removed at week 11. As soon as I hit 6 weeks I started having intense gall bladder pain. I've dealt with gall stones since Canon was born, but they were always singular events that would pass in about 4 hours, and this pain was consistent and all day/night long. The doctors I saw encouraged me to manage it with diet and hope to get to 16 weeks before discussing surgery. I tried everything, which pretty much meant eating noth...

what's going on

We're starting to try some rice cereal. I've been pretty sporadic about it, but after his 6 month appointment (which is NEXT WEEK!) I'll start putting "solids" into our every day routine.      Canon has found his feet! Now every diaper change is just the most fun, trying to get those toes into his mouth!   Canon is officially rolling over, both sides! This particular picture happened when I had gone into my bedroom for a hot second and came out to find him on his tummy! He can do it regularly now, though he doesn't love being on his tummy and rolls back over quickly.  Other things going on: Canon is officially sleeping unswaddled!! I guess around 2 weeks ago, we started again with the one arm out and went from there. He now sleeps in a fleece sleep sack with arms. I'm not going to lie, the process wasn't quite as daunting as I had originally thought, but I think that is because we waited until he was really ready.  ...
