back at it

It's been...some time. But, I'm feeling inspired.

We are right in the middle of our second summer in Fort Wayne. We've been back to Alexandria, the beach and Chicago. The boys have done Games camp, Farm camp and one VBS. We still have another VBS, 2 weddings and another trip to Virginia on our schedule! Aaron completed Hebrew 1 and will finish Hebrew 2 at the end of July. And then, school starts again in September!

We moved, of course. When I found our first rental, I knew it was in a good neighborhood and was a great size, and that it was far away from everything. We were driving 25-35 minutes to get up to Seminary, see friends and get to church. Once I made the move to stay home with the boys, it just made sense to be closer to everything that we do around town. We became aware of a rental that is just 4 blocks from our church, and about 15 minutes to everything we do. It's super cute and easier to manage because it is smaller. We're for sure still in the process of settling in and figuring out how exactly to arrange all the furniture and establish new spots and routines, but I already love it so much!

It is strange that we're starting to do things for the second time now, such as the summer socials at the Seminary and just today, the Three Rivers Parade. The best part of doing them again - having friends to join us!

So, that's that. I am hopeful that I'll find my groove again here.

going public

Well...there is not really any other way to say this but... Aaron and I are having a BABY! Yep, Baby Schultz should be arriving this Labor Day. We could not be more thrilled about the news! Once we got through the 12-week ultrasound, which is what this picture is from, we were ready to spread the news! I know there are still lots of people who should have gotten phone calls, and for that I apologize that you are finding out now, but I was just ready to get it out there! And now I will answer the questions that typically follow up this kind of announcement. 1. Were you trying? Well....not exactly. From the beginning I have felt pretty strongly that we were not in control of this whole baby-making situation. I have known many women who got pregnant on birth control, or when they didn't even know they could, and those who "planned" it and then it has taken longer than hoped. I've just always been pretty sure that when the Lord determined we were ready, He'd ...

Baby Boy #3!

We are expecting baby boy #3 and since I documented a good amount of my pregnancies with the older two, I want to at least start off giving this one the same treatment! I am due May 25th, though he'll probably come around the 18th by c-section. We found out in my 18 week appointment that we were having a boy and I can honestly say I've been super excited since. With two older brothers already ruining, I mean running, the house, I'm happy to bring another boy into our crazy. This pregnancy will always be remembered by having to have my gall bladder removed at week 11. As soon as I hit 6 weeks I started having intense gall bladder pain. I've dealt with gall stones since Canon was born, but they were always singular events that would pass in about 4 hours, and this pain was consistent and all day/night long. The doctors I saw encouraged me to manage it with diet and hope to get to 16 weeks before discussing surgery. I tried everything, which pretty much meant eating noth...

what's going on

We're starting to try some rice cereal. I've been pretty sporadic about it, but after his 6 month appointment (which is NEXT WEEK!) I'll start putting "solids" into our every day routine.      Canon has found his feet! Now every diaper change is just the most fun, trying to get those toes into his mouth!   Canon is officially rolling over, both sides! This particular picture happened when I had gone into my bedroom for a hot second and came out to find him on his tummy! He can do it regularly now, though he doesn't love being on his tummy and rolls back over quickly.  Other things going on: Canon is officially sleeping unswaddled!! I guess around 2 weeks ago, we started again with the one arm out and went from there. He now sleeps in a fleece sleep sack with arms. I'm not going to lie, the process wasn't quite as daunting as I had originally thought, but I think that is because we waited until he was really ready.  ...
