Christmas 2015

I am SO LATE with this post, but I did't want it to go undocumented, so here goes!

December 22nd we did a little family Christmas, opening presents from Aaron and I, his parents and siblings and my dad. Highlights were: Captain America doll, Firehouse Station, Sit&Learn Chair, Maps book.

December 23rd we all went to MoMo's to eat Chinese and exchange gifts with Casey and David. Highlights included a beautiful necklace for me, zip up hoodie for C and a personalized stool for B!

December 24th we hung around the house in the morning, then went over to Casey's house to see Santa! Her dad owns his own Santa suit and she invited a few kids over for cookies, playtime and to sit on Santa's lap! I didn't get any pictures with Santa as Ben wouldn't let go of me, but we did get a good one of all the kids! I hope this is a tradition that continues.

I feel like I should stop here and just say that Canon and Cole love each other....and are super silly when they are together, as any 3 & 4 year olds should be! Getting them to sit and smile for a picture was kind of hard, but I am so glad that they'd rather be running around outside playing together!

Later that night we went to Baptist Temple Commonwealth Baptist Church with all the boys in matching pajamas! Back to MoMo's house for dinner and then to bed!

December 25 we woke up early and headed back to MoMo's house for more presents! (We do a lot of back and forth to my mom's!) I didn't get a lot of pictures, but the boys sure had fun together! We went to Immanuel for the 10am service and then back to our house for naps. Then later that evening we did dinner again at my mom's. The boys this year were 4, 3, 2 and 1. It was super hectic, but they really had a great time playing!

It was a super fun few days celebrating with family and friends! I spent a lot of time the following few days thinking about the "Christmas hangover" or "emotional let-down" that is the days after Christmas. Thinking about how our church celebrates the full season of Advent, then the full season of Christmas all the way to Epiphany. Christmas really is supposed to be a full season of celebration, not just one morning. Anyway, things to contemplate as we continue to form our family traditions. Merry Christmas 2015!

going public

Well...there is not really any other way to say this but... Aaron and I are having a BABY! Yep, Baby Schultz should be arriving this Labor Day. We could not be more thrilled about the news! Once we got through the 12-week ultrasound, which is what this picture is from, we were ready to spread the news! I know there are still lots of people who should have gotten phone calls, and for that I apologize that you are finding out now, but I was just ready to get it out there! And now I will answer the questions that typically follow up this kind of announcement. 1. Were you trying? Well....not exactly. From the beginning I have felt pretty strongly that we were not in control of this whole baby-making situation. I have known many women who got pregnant on birth control, or when they didn't even know they could, and those who "planned" it and then it has taken longer than hoped. I've just always been pretty sure that when the Lord determined we were ready, He'd ...

Baby Boy #3!

We are expecting baby boy #3 and since I documented a good amount of my pregnancies with the older two, I want to at least start off giving this one the same treatment! I am due May 25th, though he'll probably come around the 18th by c-section. We found out in my 18 week appointment that we were having a boy and I can honestly say I've been super excited since. With two older brothers already ruining, I mean running, the house, I'm happy to bring another boy into our crazy. This pregnancy will always be remembered by having to have my gall bladder removed at week 11. As soon as I hit 6 weeks I started having intense gall bladder pain. I've dealt with gall stones since Canon was born, but they were always singular events that would pass in about 4 hours, and this pain was consistent and all day/night long. The doctors I saw encouraged me to manage it with diet and hope to get to 16 weeks before discussing surgery. I tried everything, which pretty much meant eating noth...

what's going on

We're starting to try some rice cereal. I've been pretty sporadic about it, but after his 6 month appointment (which is NEXT WEEK!) I'll start putting "solids" into our every day routine.      Canon has found his feet! Now every diaper change is just the most fun, trying to get those toes into his mouth!   Canon is officially rolling over, both sides! This particular picture happened when I had gone into my bedroom for a hot second and came out to find him on his tummy! He can do it regularly now, though he doesn't love being on his tummy and rolls back over quickly.  Other things going on: Canon is officially sleeping unswaddled!! I guess around 2 weeks ago, we started again with the one arm out and went from there. He now sleeps in a fleece sleep sack with arms. I'm not going to lie, the process wasn't quite as daunting as I had originally thought, but I think that is because we waited until he was really ready.  ...
