Lots of Changes!!

I am so far behind on life, but there have been 2 big things that I can at least blame it on!

1 - We moved!!! Since Ben we knew that we would quickly be outgrowing our 808 sq. foot apartment. It didn't take me long to decide the next neighborhood I wanted to live, and after going to a few different open houses in the early spring to get a feel for their size/layout/options, I settled on Park Fairfax, a large town home/condo neighborhood about 2 miles from our current place. We were able to find a corner unit WITH a walkout to a back patio in the best little courtyard. We have no one above or below us and lots of big trees around us! We moved in last weekend and while it was a whirlwind, we are SO glad. We're still renting, but we get access to 3 pools, tennis courts, a car wash and we're in walking distance from shops/restaurants. We're really lucky that the last tenant left her patio table, umbrella and chairs, so we've been enjoying lots of meals outside!

2 - The other big news is that I got a new job!!! At the end of April I was just perusing Craigslist, as I often do just to see what's out there, and came across a job description that looked SO familiar! Back in 2013, when we were moving from Denver, I applied for and talked on the phone with a woman at a daycare/preschool in Arlington, but they wanted someone to start the position before we were going to be in the area. When I saw the ad in April, I was so sure it was the same position that I found the original e-mails and e-mailed her directly! Turns out it was and I was able to come in for an interview in early May. I was offered the job, accepted, and started on May 21st!
I am the new Enrollment Coordinator at First Baptist Church Clarendon Child Development Center! I am about 2 weeks in and I am loving it. I am responsible for the waitlist, which is long!, assigning classes and making sure paperwork is all up to date. We are right in the midst of enrolling new kids for September and making class lists as well, so it has been crazy. I am super happy though! I love the fast pace of it, the problem-solving and puzzle making of figuring out classes and how many spots we have, etc. I don't love telling parents that they won't get in this year, but the phone calls when I get to tell them they ARE in are wonderful!
Canon was able to start in a "young preschoolers" class last week and he is just blossoming! It is weird to say that he seems older and younger at the same time since starting. He seems older in that this is an actual school, he is making new friends, walking in a line in the hallway, etc. But he seems  younger in that he is more silly, his imagination has taken off and he is playing better at home too! I am so happy for him and for us! Ben will start in September (waitlist integrity, haha!) and will spend the summer at home with Aaron.

With these two changes, we are SO HAPPY with our life right now! Things are feeling like they are falling into place for us, as a family unit, but also financially. We are so grateful for the blessings that we have received this past month and so look forward to the future! Hooray!

Over on my Facebook Page I'm hosting a giveaway of Rodan+Fields Microdermabrasion Paste! This stuff is amazing and has SO many uses!!! Go over and enter!

going public

Well...there is not really any other way to say this but... Aaron and I are having a BABY! Yep, Baby Schultz should be arriving this Labor Day. We could not be more thrilled about the news! Once we got through the 12-week ultrasound, which is what this picture is from, we were ready to spread the news! I know there are still lots of people who should have gotten phone calls, and for that I apologize that you are finding out now, but I was just ready to get it out there! And now I will answer the questions that typically follow up this kind of announcement. 1. Were you trying? Well....not exactly. From the beginning I have felt pretty strongly that we were not in control of this whole baby-making situation. I have known many women who got pregnant on birth control, or when they didn't even know they could, and those who "planned" it and then it has taken longer than hoped. I've just always been pretty sure that when the Lord determined we were ready, He'd ...

Baby Boy #3!

We are expecting baby boy #3 and since I documented a good amount of my pregnancies with the older two, I want to at least start off giving this one the same treatment! I am due May 25th, though he'll probably come around the 18th by c-section. We found out in my 18 week appointment that we were having a boy and I can honestly say I've been super excited since. With two older brothers already ruining, I mean running, the house, I'm happy to bring another boy into our crazy. This pregnancy will always be remembered by having to have my gall bladder removed at week 11. As soon as I hit 6 weeks I started having intense gall bladder pain. I've dealt with gall stones since Canon was born, but they were always singular events that would pass in about 4 hours, and this pain was consistent and all day/night long. The doctors I saw encouraged me to manage it with diet and hope to get to 16 weeks before discussing surgery. I tried everything, which pretty much meant eating noth...

what's going on

We're starting to try some rice cereal. I've been pretty sporadic about it, but after his 6 month appointment (which is NEXT WEEK!) I'll start putting "solids" into our every day routine.      Canon has found his feet! Now every diaper change is just the most fun, trying to get those toes into his mouth!   Canon is officially rolling over, both sides! This particular picture happened when I had gone into my bedroom for a hot second and came out to find him on his tummy! He can do it regularly now, though he doesn't love being on his tummy and rolls back over quickly.  Other things going on: Canon is officially sleeping unswaddled!! I guess around 2 weeks ago, we started again with the one arm out and went from there. He now sleeps in a fleece sleep sack with arms. I'm not going to lie, the process wasn't quite as daunting as I had originally thought, but I think that is because we waited until he was really ready.  ...
