Thanksgiving 2014

Well, I'm 38 weeks preggo and instead of boring you with how ready I am my body is to have this baby, I'll post our Thanksgiving recap instead! That is much more fun. But just in case you were actually wondering, this baby is welcome to make his appearance any day now for the love of my hips, shoulders, stomach and sleep!

We celebrated Thanksgiving at my mom's house with my sister, her 2 kids, and our friends Chris, Meg & Avery. Amanda and her boys, Cole & Wes, came up Tuesday night and Wednesday was Wes's 1st Birthday! Canon and I grabbed some cupcakes for the sweet boy to celebrate with that evening. And wouldn't you know, I even brought over the big camera! (though, it is still sitting on the table, so a picture of a good picture will have to do for now)

I was really excited for Canon to get to hang out with his cousins, so that was the focus of our days, other than eating of course!

MoMo gifted the boys with matching PJ's - one set they put on that night, the other is saved for Christmas Eve

On Friday evening we went to the lighting of the Alexandria Christmas Tree in Old Town and met Santa! Well, Cole met Santa, Canon was not as excited. He did love that light saber though!

I was very impressed by Santa and Mrs. Claus! Obviously real looking and the lighting for the outdoor shots was awesome.

Looking forward to prepping Canon some more and hoping to get another visit with Santa before the season ends!

And a few other random shots from the weekend:

We installed the infant car seat! It's getting real y'all!!

I love watching him play!

Posing on Thanksgiving Day because I LOVED his outfit

I hope your Thanksgiving was filled with family, friends and joy like ours!

going public

Well...there is not really any other way to say this but... Aaron and I are having a BABY! Yep, Baby Schultz should be arriving this Labor Day. We could not be more thrilled about the news! Once we got through the 12-week ultrasound, which is what this picture is from, we were ready to spread the news! I know there are still lots of people who should have gotten phone calls, and for that I apologize that you are finding out now, but I was just ready to get it out there! And now I will answer the questions that typically follow up this kind of announcement. 1. Were you trying? Well....not exactly. From the beginning I have felt pretty strongly that we were not in control of this whole baby-making situation. I have known many women who got pregnant on birth control, or when they didn't even know they could, and those who "planned" it and then it has taken longer than hoped. I've just always been pretty sure that when the Lord determined we were ready, He'd ...

Baby Boy #3!

We are expecting baby boy #3 and since I documented a good amount of my pregnancies with the older two, I want to at least start off giving this one the same treatment! I am due May 25th, though he'll probably come around the 18th by c-section. We found out in my 18 week appointment that we were having a boy and I can honestly say I've been super excited since. With two older brothers already ruining, I mean running, the house, I'm happy to bring another boy into our crazy. This pregnancy will always be remembered by having to have my gall bladder removed at week 11. As soon as I hit 6 weeks I started having intense gall bladder pain. I've dealt with gall stones since Canon was born, but they were always singular events that would pass in about 4 hours, and this pain was consistent and all day/night long. The doctors I saw encouraged me to manage it with diet and hope to get to 16 weeks before discussing surgery. I tried everything, which pretty much meant eating noth...

what's going on

We're starting to try some rice cereal. I've been pretty sporadic about it, but after his 6 month appointment (which is NEXT WEEK!) I'll start putting "solids" into our every day routine.      Canon has found his feet! Now every diaper change is just the most fun, trying to get those toes into his mouth!   Canon is officially rolling over, both sides! This particular picture happened when I had gone into my bedroom for a hot second and came out to find him on his tummy! He can do it regularly now, though he doesn't love being on his tummy and rolls back over quickly.  Other things going on: Canon is officially sleeping unswaddled!! I guess around 2 weeks ago, we started again with the one arm out and went from there. He now sleeps in a fleece sleep sack with arms. I'm not going to lie, the process wasn't quite as daunting as I had originally thought, but I think that is because we waited until he was really ready.  ...
