we didn't know what we were getting into

A few weeks ago, Aaron and I headed down to the new Ikea that just opened in Centennial. It had been open for about 9 or 10 days by that point. Aaron had never been to an Ikea before and I tried to let him know that it wasn't just a furniture store. 3 hours later, I think he got it! Also, because this one had just opened, there were swarms of people! I'm not kidding, I felt like I was going to a concert!

Here are a few pics of things we (or I) liked!

lots of event staff were needed - clearly they were working hard

loved, loved, loved this dining table and chairs!

I have a thing for white couches

Aaron loved this floating bookshelf

another white couch

I'm contemplating this as the color scheme for the living room

really liked these lights under the shelves as well as the bar to hang things along the backsplash

grey floral curtains - i will be buying these soon!

the bed I picked out

the bed Aaron picked out

we definitely need something in the hallway to put mail, keys, etc

genius.

and of course, cheap food! 2 hot dogs, chips, a drink and ice cream for like $3.50

That was our trip to Ikea! We'll definitely be heading back soon to pick up a few things. Good things it's only 7 miles away :)

As a disclaimer, I feel that I need to add I was planning this post before younghouselove did theirs.

Any awesome finds that y'all would like to share?

going public

Well...there is not really any other way to say this but... Aaron and I are having a BABY! Yep, Baby Schultz should be arriving this Labor Day. We could not be more thrilled about the news! Once we got through the 12-week ultrasound, which is what this picture is from, we were ready to spread the news! I know there are still lots of people who should have gotten phone calls, and for that I apologize that you are finding out now, but I was just ready to get it out there! And now I will answer the questions that typically follow up this kind of announcement. 1. Were you trying? Well....not exactly. From the beginning I have felt pretty strongly that we were not in control of this whole baby-making situation. I have known many women who got pregnant on birth control, or when they didn't even know they could, and those who "planned" it and then it has taken longer than hoped. I've just always been pretty sure that when the Lord determined we were ready, He'd ...

Baby Boy #3!

We are expecting baby boy #3 and since I documented a good amount of my pregnancies with the older two, I want to at least start off giving this one the same treatment! I am due May 25th, though he'll probably come around the 18th by c-section. We found out in my 18 week appointment that we were having a boy and I can honestly say I've been super excited since. With two older brothers already ruining, I mean running, the house, I'm happy to bring another boy into our crazy. This pregnancy will always be remembered by having to have my gall bladder removed at week 11. As soon as I hit 6 weeks I started having intense gall bladder pain. I've dealt with gall stones since Canon was born, but they were always singular events that would pass in about 4 hours, and this pain was consistent and all day/night long. The doctors I saw encouraged me to manage it with diet and hope to get to 16 weeks before discussing surgery. I tried everything, which pretty much meant eating noth...

what's going on

We're starting to try some rice cereal. I've been pretty sporadic about it, but after his 6 month appointment (which is NEXT WEEK!) I'll start putting "solids" into our every day routine.      Canon has found his feet! Now every diaper change is just the most fun, trying to get those toes into his mouth!   Canon is officially rolling over, both sides! This particular picture happened when I had gone into my bedroom for a hot second and came out to find him on his tummy! He can do it regularly now, though he doesn't love being on his tummy and rolls back over quickly.  Other things going on: Canon is officially sleeping unswaddled!! I guess around 2 weeks ago, we started again with the one arm out and went from there. He now sleeps in a fleece sleep sack with arms. I'm not going to lie, the process wasn't quite as daunting as I had originally thought, but I think that is because we waited until he was really ready.  ...
