What's Up Wednesday

This month has flown by! September was a much anticipated month, with the start of school and football and fall, and I can say so far it has not disappointed! Here is a peek into what I and we have been up to this month!

WHAT WE'RE EATING...
I've been on a Weight Watchers kick this month (hooray!) so most of our dinners have been "points friendly". Finding these recipes has also helped us get out of the same things we were eating week after week all summer!
Slow Cooker Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Layered Chicken Enchilada Bake from Emily Bites Blog
I also love using this Taco Seasoning recipe on chicken about once a week.

WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT...
Monday was Aaron and I's 6 year engagement anniversary. What a fun night!
At dinner that night we met a Saints coach and he let Aaron try on his Super Bowl ring!

WHAT I'M LOVING...
We got a new ALDI in our town and we LOVE it! It has actually saved us so much on our grocery bill, which is good because we're now packing Canon's lunch every day. Their brands are much better than other grocery store brands and we've been able to get almost everything we need in one trip.

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO...

September was full of Back to School for us! Canon's first day at Immanuel, Ben's first day in a new classroom and new classes and kids for Aaron and I as well - all the same day. Then Back to School Nights for both our schools, parent meetings, etc pretty much filled up our schedule.

Also, FOOTBALL! Both Clemson and Nebraska are 4-0 and we couldn't be more excited!

WHAT I'M LISTENING TO...
I'm definitely more into podcasts than anything else right now. These are a few I subscribe to

WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND...

Clemson Vs. Louisville is Saturday night!!

WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH...
A visit from friends next weekend! We'll be doing all the fall things since they live at the beach like apple picking, pumpkin farms and playgrounds, etc.

That about sums it up for me and the family right now!

Comments

  1. I love that you celebrated the anniversary of your engagement! We like to do that too, and at least acknowledge lots of other smaller anniversaries... there's always a reason to celebrate! :-)

going public

Well...there is not really any other way to say this but... Aaron and I are having a BABY! Yep, Baby Schultz should be arriving this Labor Day. We could not be more thrilled about the news! Once we got through the 12-week ultrasound, which is what this picture is from, we were ready to spread the news! I know there are still lots of people who should have gotten phone calls, and for that I apologize that you are finding out now, but I was just ready to get it out there! And now I will answer the questions that typically follow up this kind of announcement. 1. Were you trying? Well....not exactly. From the beginning I have felt pretty strongly that we were not in control of this whole baby-making situation. I have known many women who got pregnant on birth control, or when they didn't even know they could, and those who "planned" it and then it has taken longer than hoped. I've just always been pretty sure that when the Lord determined we were ready, He'd ...

Arise Campus Ministry 9.23.14

Over the past few years, I've had the opportunity to be part of some awesome ministries. From time to time, I've been given the chance to speak and I wanted a place to keep those files. Here is where I'll post my talks, Bible Studies, etc that I'm either doing or creating.  Arise Campus Ministry at George Mason University 9.23.2014 This week I want to tell y’all a little about my story, because the word “belonging” is extremely significant in it. I came to Christ at the end of middle school – which for me were terrible years. Think about all the stereotypes of mean girls and being made fun of and left out, and that is my story. It all really fell apart for me at the beginning of my 9 th  grade year when every girl I had left middle school fighting to maintain a friendship with completely ignored me. I had a peripheral friendship with a girl who was a church goer and accepted her invitation to become part of their youth group. I had been on and off, but nev...

February Goals

Happy February! I'm joining Elizabeth and Sarah to talk about B+ Goals for the month! I am loving the idea of setting up some attainable goals for each month, but also giving myself grace for meeting or not meeting them. This year I am focusing on my Physical and Spiritual Health. First, a quick review of January's Goals. January Physical Health Goals : * hit my 10,000 steps 4 days of the week (I work a desk job, so this means I'll have to do some extra walking either before or after work) * track my food  January Spiritual Health Goals :  * read Simply Tuesday by Emily P Freeman * start my day with Jesus Calling and First 5 App   As my husband would say, I won more days than I lost in January! My fitbit broke 3 weeks into January, so the last week and some I wasn't able to track, but I did get to the gym to run a few times without it. I also tracked more food than I didn't and the days we were at work I did really well staying w...
