Five On Friday: October Goals

Another great link-up to help get me back in the swing of things! Here are my 5 October Goals:

Aaron and I have a pretty good budget going, but I'm feeling a little more motivated recently to do something crazy that forces some better discipline on my part. I like that this whole experience is about more than just not spending, but organizing, purging, resting, etc. We've allotted money towards the things we have to do, like normal groceries (our current routine is a good one), diapers/wipes/formula, one date night and some family commitments we've already made for the month. Other than that, the financial goal is to save up all of this month's "play" money.

2. Do a "Day in the Life" post.
I've already got this one kind of started, but I really want to link-up with this blogger for her series. Looking back on different seasons of our life, routines Canon was in, etc is the way I most utilize my blog, so I don't want to get too far out without documenting our current life!

3. Finish For the Love by Jen Hatmaker and Boys on the Boat by Daniel James Brown.

4. Less Technology in the evenings.
This one is probably obvious, but I really dis-like the amount of time I spend mindlessly scrolling through social media after the boys go to bed. It's not a problem if I am intentionally doing something, but being on my phone without a purpose isn't good. I'd like to replace this time with cleaning, prepping for the next day and reading.

5. Host a couple or family for a meal.
I love this. So many good things that happen when we do this and I want it to happen more frequently!

So there's my Friday on Five: October goals! I'm excited!

  1. Love your goals! I also want to have people over for dinner or something. I don't do this near enough! Have a great weekend :)
