Ben - 3 months

Weight: I'm going to guess around 15 lbs

Eating: Mainly mama's milk! On weekdays when he is in daycare he nurses at 7am, and gets 2 bottles of breastmilk at 10am and 1pm. He gets a bottle of formula at 4pm, then I nurse him again around 7pm for bed. His bottles at daycare are 5oz. He still eats twice a night :(

Sleeping: We've been changing things a lot, but I think we've finally found our consistent nighttime routine! He is back in our room for now, in the pack n' play. I nurse him around 7:00/7:30pm and he's asleep by 8:20. He wakes up anytime between 12:30 and 3:00am to eat and then again about 2.5 hours later. However, he has started sleeping through in between those feedings, so I'm okay with it! He takes 4 naps, 9am, 11am 1:30ish and then 4:30 when we leave daycare.

Clothes: Some 3-6 months, but more and more the 6 month!

Likes: People! Smiling and laughing, blowing bubbles, talking!! Saying "ohhhhh" a lot!

Dislikes: The car.

Doing: This month was daycare! He is going really well there, taking 3 naps during the day. We went out to dinner at Los Tios twice in one week and he did great. Came car shopping with me and my mom, had a play date with Susan and David Robert and spent lots of time at church!

On Managing Two: Certain things have gotten easier - like managing the evening hours and getting out with both of them alone. They continue to interact and pay more attention to each other!

Myself: Getting into a groove with work has been challenging and good. The hardest part is getting out the door in the mornings! There are so many bags! I'm working on getting more done at night to make it easier for me in the morning. Now that it is warm I'm hoping to start getting more exercise and I'm trying to remember we have a beach trip planned for the end of May that I want to feel good about. Taking care of my skin definitely makes me want to take care of the rest of my body! I love, love, love my family and really look forward to the time we all get to spend together!

Baby Boy #3!

We are expecting baby boy #3 and since I documented a good amount of my pregnancies with the older two, I want to at least start off giving this one the same treatment! I am due May 25th, though he'll probably come around the 18th by c-section. We found out in my 18 week appointment that we were having a boy and I can honestly say I've been super excited since. With two older brothers already ruining, I mean running, the house, I'm happy to bring another boy into our crazy. This pregnancy will always be remembered by having to have my gall bladder removed at week 11. As soon as I hit 6 weeks I started having intense gall bladder pain. I've dealt with gall stones since Canon was born, but they were always singular events that would pass in about 4 hours, and this pain was consistent and all day/night long. The doctors I saw encouraged me to manage it with diet and hope to get to 16 weeks before discussing surgery. I tried everything, which pretty much meant eating noth...

22 weeks (5 months)

this kid cracks me up Just like every mom, I say this every month, but I can't believe he is already 5 months! I'm not going to lie, this event has really caused me to kick my mommy-ness into gear. It is time to get this kid together, ha! So this week I have been really intentional about making sure we get lots of tummy time in, practicing rolling over, lots of time in the bumbo chair and on the couch sitting up and being super silly to pull out those giggles! And honestly, we're having the best time! Not that I wasn't doing these things before, but I had a bit more laid back approach assuming that he'll just learn things on his own. And he will, but now I'm just more up in his face pushing him along! We got over being sick, for the most part, at the end of last week. Since he had been sick, I'd been rocking him a lot more, going into his room during naps/nighttime almost every time he cried, putting the pacifier back in his mouth, etc. Well, let me t...

His and Hers

Aaron has officially started his second year of seminary! To commemorate, I thought I'd paste the answers to some questions we were both recently asked. A way to get an idea of both sides of our life right now. My answers: How did you spend your summer?  We had the best summer! Aaron took Hebrew in June and July, and I had my first summer as a stay at home mom. We went to the beach, pool, the library, visited Chicago and came to Alexandria twice!!  What are you most looking forward to (in your 2nd year at Seminary)?  The “cloud” over the 2nd year is getting ready for our vicarage. We’ll meet with the placement director in October and will find out the location in April! So there will be lots of hypothetical conversations, wishlists and prayers leading up to that!  Otherwise, I’m excited that we’ll be just minutes away from our church and school. I hope to get our whole family to matins more weekdays than not and Canon will begin a first communion class this ...
