Ben's turns 1!

Oh, Ben. I can't believe you have been with us for a whole year now! You have made our family more complete and I can't ever imagine a time when you weren't here! From the beginning you have been a super happy, easy going, laid back baby. Thank you! While its not always easy being the younger brother, you don't ever seem to mind! You love Canon and always want to do whatever it is he is doing! You were our chunky baby and have grow into a big toddler, weighing in at about 25 lbs. You are wearing mostly 18 month clothes and mama has even gotten to buy some new ones since our seasons for hand me downs are off now :) You share a room with Canon and still sleep in your pack n' play (on an extra 3" mattress we bought when you were a baby!). You are also our early riser and recently we can hear you pushing and pulling at the rails at 5:30am. You've started walking a bit and now whenever we try to carry you somewhere you insist on being put down, holding onto one

Thanksgiving 2015

We had a really great, low-key Thanksgiving! My mom hosted, which meant we didn't have to travel and got to home base (nap) in our own house! We are so grateful my sister and her family came up and can't wait to all be together again at Christmas! Wednesday night we went out to eat....these boys are 1 year apart!   Thursday morning Amanda and I ran the Alexandria Turkey Trot. It is a 5-miler and I was feeling  nervous about it given my lack of running lately. I told myself I'd run the first 3, then walk the last 2, but ended up running closer to 4 miles! Hooray!  We celebrated Wes' 2nd birthday!  And the "big boys" got to play by the water.  Friday night we walked into Old Town to see Santa and Mrs. Claus! It was a long wait, but totally worth it! We saw the same Santa last year and Canon was much happier this time!  Then Sunday we got our own Christmas tree!  Hope your Thanksgiving was filled with lots of

Canon's Chrismas List

Canon's list this year has been pretty easy. We're keeping it simple, just giving him 4 presents from us and then a few extras from Santa (aka grandparents). He's super into building, legos, matchbox cars and characters, so I decided to go with those I thought would give us the most years of playtime.

Football Weekend through the Years

Somehow I've never posted about the home football games my college friends and I have gone to since we've graduated. We've gotten together every year since graduating in the spring of 2007! I thought it would be fun to take a little trip down memory lane with pics from each year! 2007 2008 2009 2010 (Aaron's first year!) 2011 - We moved to Denver 2012 - We had a baby   2013   2014 2015 Recap HERE

Clemson Weekend

Over the past 8 years my college friends have gotten together for various events, but always for a home football game! As I am writing this, I realized I've never actually posted about these weekends, so I'm going to find those pictures and do a separate post on that!  As we started our e-mail chain about this year's game, a very wise Spangler suggested maybe combining football weekend and mountain house weekend into one, since ya know, tailgating all day with children isn't the most fun thing in the world.  So, the 2015 mountain house football weekend was created. It was the best decision. We picked an away game and a house that was centrally located to everyone in NC. We left town after work Thursday night and arrived at 1am. It was a long, dark drive, but totally worth it not to have to be in the car again for 2 whole days!  I thought I would take more pictures, but as it was, I was too buys catching up with friends and chasing toddlers! Here is what I

Weekend in Wilmington

This past weekend I took the boys on a solo trip to visit Meg, Chris and Avery in Wilmington, NC! It was a looooong drive down on Friday evening (about 7 hours total), but it was totally worth it.  These sweet boys. I can't blame them for their behavior on that long drive, but they were both very happy to be stretched out to sleep once we got there.  Meg, Chris and Avery lived in the apartment right next door to us for a year and a half. Avery was 10ish weeks when we moved in and Canon was 14 months. It was the best. Just like in college, we would knock on each other's doors to just hang out and have each other over for impromptu play dates and meals. Meg saw me at my best and worst, as well as my apartment at its best and worst. She was there when I found out I was pregnant with Ben and was the first one to see him when we got home from the hospital. Friendships are so hard to build out of college because you have to plan for them - I can't say enough about wh
